Javier Hernandez was recently pictured meeting future Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti in Canada.
This has sparked rumours that the former Manchester United forward may move to Bayern in the summer. Ancelotti was announced as the next manager of Bayern Munich once Pep Guardiola completes his contract in the next few weeks. A renowned manager in world football, Ancelotti has managed some of the biggest players in the world like Didier Drogba, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He has managed to consistently get the best out of these forwards under difficult working conditions.
Bayern seemed to have one of the strongest squads in the Champions League this season. However, they were left short in the forward area when Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Müller both failed to score against Atletico Madrid. This has raised the need for a third option who can be excellent when called upon. Since his move to German football, Hernandez has been on a brilliant run. His 17 goals in 26 games for Bayer Leverkusen has put the club on the verge of qualification to the Champions League. Hernandez has dismissed rumours that he is seeking a move to Bayern Munich and insisted that the meeting with Ancelotti was just a formal greeting.
However, Hernandez refused to confirm that his future lay at Bayer Leverkusen. “I saw him [Ancelotti] while I was in Vancouver with the national team to face Canada, yes. But we simply greeted each other and he spoke a bit with my wife. The rest are just rumours. The Champions League [qualifying] is the goal, without a doubt. We truly hope to hold onto third place. But I don’t know what will happen this summer. While I was at Madrid, we won nothing. Being on the best team doesn’t guarantee you any titles,” said Hernandez.
